QUICK TOUR OF THE USE OF TREK-TRACKER
Depending on the source of your map, there are different methods to capture the image...
If you are working with a paper map:
You can scan it...
Or use a digital camera. ( A digital camera that uses the same memory form as
your pocket PC can be used to collect maps in the field where ever and whenever you need it.
One sample equipment combination is a Nikon COOL-PIX camera (which uses
a CF memory card) and a Compaq IPAQ equipped with a CF expansion sleeve.)
- OR -
Save the image off your computer screen:
Use either a screen save (the "Prt Scrn" Key), then open Microsoft PAINT
(or any other imaging software), paste the screen save in,
and save it. Or, if your mapping application allows it, use
a "Save Window" / "Save as image" function.
To load the image to your Pocket-PC, simply move
it to the "Syncronized Folder" set up by Microsoft Active-Sync.
Now you can Geo-Reference the image (The Last Step!)
